Please read these terms carefully before using Balanced Budget. By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Balanced Budget ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account or subscribe to a paid plan, and to use the Service. By registering an account, subscribing, or using the Service, you confirm that you meet this requirement and are legally capable of entering into a binding agreement. The Service is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age, and we do not knowingly allow minors to create an account or subscribe. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@balancedbudget.net and we will promptly delete it.
3. Description of Service
Balanced Budget is a personal finance application that helps users track expenses, manage debt payoff plans, set savings goals, and receive motivational budgeting tips. The Service is offered in three tiers: Basic ($4.99/month), Advanced ($12.99/month), and Premium ($24.99/month).
4. Subscriptions and Billing
New subscriptions begin with a 30-day free trial at no charge. On day 30, and on each monthly anniversary thereafter, your selected payment method is charged the monthly price of the plan you chose (Basic $4.99, Advanced $12.99, or Premium $24.99) on a recurring basis until cancelled. You authorize Balanced Budget to charge the selected subscription fee to your payment method each billing cycle. Unless otherwise required by law, subscription fees are non-refundable after payment. Users may cancel at any time, and cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period.
5. Refunds and Cancellations
Free for 30 days, then billed monthly until you cancel. Cancel anytime in Account Settings before your trial ends and you won't be charged. 6. User Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
7. User Data
You retain ownership of all financial data you enter into the Service. Balanced Budget does not sell your personal or financial data to third parties. Your data is stored securely and is only accessible to you unless you choose to share it.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to: (a) use the Service for any unlawful purpose; (b) attempt to disrupt or compromise the Service's security; (c) reverse engineer or decompile any part of the Service; or (d) use automated tools to access the Service without authorization.
9. Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality of the Service—including text, graphics, logos, and software—are the exclusive property of Balanced Budget and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
10. No Financial Advice
Balanced Budget is an educational budgeting tool and does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Consult a qualified professional before making financial decisions. The information, calculations, recommendations, AI-generated suggestions, and motivational content provided through the Service are for informational and educational purposes only and should not be considered financial, investment, tax, legal, or accounting advice. AI-generated suggestions may be inaccurate. Users are solely responsible for their financial decisions.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from bugs. You use the Service at your own risk.
12. Limitation of Liability
Balanced Budget and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to financial losses resulting from decisions made based on information provided by the Service.
13. Cancellation and Data Deletion
You may cancel your subscription at any time through the Account Settings page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and your account will revert to the Basic plan. You may also delete all of your financial data (expenses, debt payoff plans, and savings goals) at any time through the Account Settings page. This deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. If you wish to close your account entirely, please contact us at support@balancedbudget.net.
14. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without cause or notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
15. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
